Gov Contracting Workshop in Newport VT Feb 18

The Small Business Administration and Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center are hosting a workshop to assist small businesses understand the HUBZone Program from 10 a.m. to noon EST Feb. 18 in Newport, Vt. at 79 Coventry St. Suite 4C.

The Historically Underutilized Business Zone program assists small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities. Businesses in Newport and the surrounding areas are in a designated HUBZone.

The benefits for HUBZone-certified companies include competitive and sole source contracting, and 10 percent price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions. The federal government has a goal of awarding three percent of federal prime contracts to HUBZone-certified small businesses.
