“WELCOME to the virtual home of the Vermont Human Rights Commission's 2025 Civil Rights Summit! From November 14-16, 2025, we will bring together advocates, nonprofits, movement organizations, community leaders, and policymakers to safeguard civil rights in Vermont. Join us as we strategize policy solutions to strengthen civil rights protections in our state.
We have curated 15 panels made up of Vermont's civil rights leaders, who will address some of the most pressing civil rights challenges we face. Panelists will join us from the ACLU-VT, the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity, End Homelessness Vermont, VT Legal Aid, FreeHer, the Vermont Asylum Assistance Project, the Vermont Racial Justice Alliance, Migrant Justice, Outright Vermont, Family Equality, the Education Justice Coalition, Disability Rights Vermont, the Vermont Center for Independent Living, the Vermont Attorney General's Civil Rights Unit, and more!
Our panelists are on the front lines of civil rights advocacy in Vermont and will discuss a broad range of frontline areas of civil rights defense: housing discrimination, the rights of the unhoused, equity in education, disability justice, queer and trans rights, immigrant justice, fair and impartial policing, incarceration and civil rights, racial justice, and voting access.
We'll also hear from State agencies including the State Refugee office, the Commission on Women, the Office of Racial Equity, the Human Rights Commission, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.”
